Laser Surgery

We are pleased to offer laser surgery as an option for safe, comfortable treatment. For many procedures, the laser can replace the scalpel and provide a better alternative to traditional surgery. By sealing the nerve endings and small blood vessels during surgery, the laser reduces pain and causes less swelling. As a result, there is a reduced risk of infection and a quick return to normal activities.

Endoscopy

Endoscopy is the ability to "look inside the body" by using a camera attached to either a flexible or rigid tube. This gives us the ability to examine the interior lumen of the esophagus, stomach and other organs in a noninvasive and non-traumatic manner. Endoscopy can be used in conjunction with radiography and laboratory analysis in order to arrive at a definitive diagnosis. Once this is achieved, a therapeutic plan can be developed and initiated. General anesthesia is required to perform most endoscopic procedures.

Reproduction

We have been offering reproduction services for more than thirty years. We are a member of Synbiotics Inc. and equipped to perform hormonal testing for ovulation timing. In addition, we perform semen evaluation and artificial insemination. We are available 24 hours for testing and caesarian surgeries.

Radiology

Our hospital now offers Idexx Digital Radiography. Digital radiography provides higher quality images that can aid us in diagnosing medical problems. Using this state of the art system, the digital images can be burned to a CD and taken home, or they can be sent to a radiology specialist for further evaluation.

Laboratory and Diagnostic Testing

Laboratory testing is an integral role in early detection of changes in your pet's health. Using our in-house Idexx Laboratory equipment, we are able to provide essential information with which we can identify blood disorders, liver and kidney disease, diabetes, infection, thyroid disease and other hormonal problems. By using our extensive laboratory, we are able to provide fast and accurate information that is necessary for the well-being of your pet.

Surgery

We offer a well-equipped operating room. We provide modern inhalation anesthetic techniques combined with a ventilator, pulse oximetry and continuous technician monitoring. We offer general and advanced soft tissue surgery along with some orthopedic surgery. Prior to surgery, we perform a thorough physical examination to identify existing medical conditions. Because not all problems can be detected on examination, we also recommend pre-anesthetic blood testing. Pain management is always a part of our medical protocol to provide a comfortable experience for your pet.

Drop-Off Service

In order to accommodate your needs, we offer early morning drop-offs. Providing you have called our office and made prior arrangements, you can drop off your pet and pick him / her up at a later time. After dropping off your pet, requested services are performed during the course of the day. You are welcome to call us throughout the day to discuss the progress of your pet's treatment. In case of a sick or injured pet, the owner is called after the initial exam to discuss treatment recommendations.
