About Us

Our History
Cedar Veterinary hospital was established in 1961, and ever since, has been dedicated to serving the Fresno area and its pets by offering a caring, family-like atmosphere. We are a landmark in the valley, with clients and pets coming from all areas of California in order to seek professional care. "We care for your pet" is our motto and our primary goal is to offer all aspects of care, both physically and emotionally.
Appointment Hours
Appointment hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00am–7:30pm and Saturday and Sunday 9:00am–4:30pm. As an added benefit to our clients, we provide an early morning drop-off service (7am) as well as late evening pick-ups (until 8pm), Monday thru Friday. We do not close for lunch and are one of the few clinics that accept walk-ins and new patients.
Specialty Services & Advanced Care
While we offer a variety of services for your pet, one service we’re best known for is reproduction medicine. By tracking a female’s ovulation, we can assist breeders with conception through artificial insemination. Known as the “Bulldog Specialist,” our hospital is not only recognized for conception of this man-made breed, but also for treating issues specific to Bulldogs, including entropion eyelids, palate cuts and skin diseases.
By attending post-doctorate courses and continuing education seminars, our veterinarians keep up-to-date with the ever changing techniques and advances in veterinary medicine. To better care for your pets, we have added an array of “cutting-edge” diagnostic services. The latest technologies that we have added include CO2 laser surgery, endoscopy, digital radiography and dental radiography and the ultrasound.
The CO2 laser is unique in that it allows doctors to perform surgery without a scalpel blade. As the laser cuts, it cauterizes and seals nerve endings so your pet experiences less bleeding and less pain! This is most beneficial during the declaw procedure for cats and for the removal of vascular tumors.
The endoscope has been extremely useful for throat problems. With the endoscope, we can visually examine your pet's throat, and if necessary, obtain bacterial cultures. The endoscope is also used to diagnose vaginal problems associated with breeding, diseases os the nasal passages and pathologies of the ear canals. The digital images from the endoscopy procedure can be burned to a CD and taken home, or they can be sent to a specialist for further evaluation.
Digital radiography has improved the detail of our x-rays, which very often translates into fewer diagnostic procedures that are necessary. This makes pets much happier! Additionally, with digital radiography, we have the ability to sharpen the images and copy them to a CD. If your pet's radiographs need to be viewed by a specialist, we can easily send them as email attachments.
Dental radiography has opened a new world of dental care for your pet. Now these detailed views of your pets’ teeth provide early detection of any dental disease. A healthy mouth, with excellent dental care, is critical to any pets’ overall health. These too we can copy to a CD for easy viewing and emailing. Everything start with the mouth!!
The ultrasound is our newest addition to our services. With this service we are able to perform abdominal, reproductive and cardiac scans. This minimally invasive tool allows us to provide more insights into your pets’ diagnosis.
Our Promise
